About Nic

I’m a book addict. First step is admitting it, right? Quite often you’ll find me with my head buried in a book. Whether that be escaping into another’s world of writing or my own, I find it a wonderful outlet for getting away from the everyday. I mostly enjoy reading fantasy, sci-fi and paranormal worlds, although Iā€™m willing to give any genre a try at least once.

I’ve nearly completed postgraduate studies in media and professional writing, and previously majored in literature and creative writing for my undergraduate. I currently live in Sydney, Australia and enjoy reading and writing any free moment I get.

    • Hey,

Thank you for following as well. šŸ™‚

Melina Marchetta and John Marsden are two of my favourite Australian authors. I should be putting up a review for them shortly here. Is there a particular genre that you prefer?

      • I like a wide range of genres. I am reading classics now because I feel like I should, but I also like fantasy and science fiction. I like memoir and other nonfiction. The only thing I don’t care for is horror or anything with a zombie in it. I guess I also don’t like anything super disturbing.

      • Yay! Another book lover! šŸ˜€

I’ll read pretty much any genre as well. I’ve been meaning to read Melina Marchetta’s Lumatere Chronicles shortly, which has received quite a lot of good reviews. It’s high fantasy, so if that is your thing, it may be a good Australian series to start with. šŸ™‚

      • Let me know how it goes. I just joined a book club at work and have to read Lost in Shangri-La next by Mitchell Zuckoff.

      • Will do. I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of ‘Lost in Shangri-La’. I’ve just added it to my ‘very’ long to-be-read list.
